Session #3!

Saturday was the 1st lesson of the 3rd session.  We had 5 new students!  We welcome new students always but especially this time of year when our attendance has a tendency to slack off.  I wish it wouldn't.  This is the time parents should be getting their precious children swimming lessons so when spring and summer comes they will already be familiar with the water and the respect and responsibility that comes along with being in a pool or a body of water.  Meanwhile back on deck - the lessons coordinator Cindy sits watching closely the children and instructors in the pool making sure the children and being taken care of and taught properly!  She is the best!  I am very thankful for her, the swim coach Keith & the great instructors!  We have 2 African American swim instructors - which is a first!  T & Dom who are wonderful with the children.  Let me also say that ALL of our instructors are great and wonderful with the children - but the point here is that AA children are the ones who do drown 3 x's more often so it is good for them to see likeness (if I may use that word) in the water also.  Especially since more often than not their parents don't know how to swim!  Signing off now - see you next week - on deck!!!
